In 2013, Island Watch launched a petition on Change.org as part of our campaign to stop US Fish & Wildlife from using helicopters to aerially disperse (AKA carpet bomb) the Southeast Farallon Islands with over 1.3 tons of loose rat poison pellets.
So far, over 31,000 signatures has been gathered! At the 27,000 signature mark, this petition was presented by Island Watch Executive Director Maggie Sergio to NOAA Superintendent Maria Brown during the Spring 2014 meeting of the Gulf of the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council.
Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared this petition! Please continue to do so.
This petition will remain open and active until US Fish & Wildlife officially withdraws the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Farallon Islands Mouse Eradication Project.
